Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions
Ophthalmic application: Discontinue if eye pain, vision change, redness or eye irritation occurs or if condition worsens or persists >72 hr. Not to be used with contact lenses.

Adverse Reactions
Sensitisation or allergic reaction. Ophthalmic application: Temporary blurring of vision, irritation.

Drug Interactions
Increases absorption of topical drugs eg, corticosteroids creams.

Action
Description: As a moisturiser, white petrolatum prevents water evaporation from the surface of the skin by creating an oily layer on the skin surface.
